About Trading Card Games
Trading Card Games is the brainchild of Calico back in around 2000. For those who are unfamiliar with TCGs, it's basically an online version of ordinary trading card games you collect in real life. The good thing about online TCGs is that you can make absolutely anything into cards, and there are many many TCGs out there devoting to different subjects. Anyone can join, as long as you have a valid email address and have somewhere to display the cards. I wrote a detailed guide to setting up your TCG post and how to trade cards, which you can view here.

Pretty Voice - A Little History
In this particular TCG you can collect card sets based on Asian music videos. This version is actually the third reincarnation of the original Pretty voice which ran during 2008 - 2009. It was closed due to my busy and unpredictable schedule at the time (I was working almost 70 hours a week), but since I have a stable schedule now so I can set specific times for running 2 TCGs (along with Delish Cards)! The original Pretty Voice only focused on Japanese Pop Music, but now with the popularity of other Asian music we have decided to expand the theme to include all Asian music such as Korean and Chinese. Below are some old cards and currencies from the time, for a trip down memory lane...

The site name came from a track off Otsuka Ai's Love Punch Album, and represents what Asian music artists have - pretty voices!

Card Types
There are 2 card types that can be found in Pretty Voice with an example below. Refresh to see more!

Video CardsMember Cards

Video Cards
They are cards made from Asian music videos, and the most common type. There are sets for many soloists and groups, girls and boys! Each set has 20 cards, and they are worth one.

Member Cards (Special)
The members of Pretty Voice can earn cards towards their own member set by reaching milestones and completing different tasks. Everyone starts off with a 01 member card, and you can earn up to ten cards in total to complete your member set. They are worth two each, and are fully tradeable for either another member card, or 2 video cards. You get them just like any other card, they are in the randomizer so you will be able to get them in games, etc.

You can earn a member card whenever you complete the following:
  • First Join Pretty Voice (01 member card)
  • Level Up
  • Every 3 card sets mastered
  • Chosen as the weekly member
  • Donate a complete badge set AND 5 buttons at the same time
  • Complete a game card
Please go to the Member Card page to see everyone's member deck progress!

Mastery
When you collected all 20 cards of a video set or all 10 cards of a member set, you have mastered that set and therefore get rewards. Rewards differ depending what type of set you mastered:

Card TypeRewards
Video Sets2 choice cards, 3 random cards, 3 hiragana
Member Sets3 choice cards, 5 random cards, 5 hiragana

Hiragana
There are no coupons or money currencies in Pretty Voice. Instead we have Hiragana (essentially Japanese phoenic alphabets), inspired by the "Actors" concept from the now defunct Dramatic by Jennifer. I made a little card of each hiragana, and basically you can get one choice card from a video deck when you spell out either the artist's first name or the group's name. Generally you have to collect 2-4 hiragana, depending on the set. You can refer to each card page to see exactly which Hiragana cards you need to collect.

There are 68 hiragana cards in total. You get them quite often, when you play games, donate, or as freebies. To make it easier to get the ones you need, you are allowed to trade with other members. The "Free Card" hiragana can be exchanged for any card, and the "Wildcard" hiragana represents any hiragana.

You can exchange 10 unwanted hiragana every week for new random ones using the Hiragana Bank. Also, you can earn more cards if you collect the hiragana "hands" (like Poker Hands) explained on this page! So you can finally get rid of some hiragana that are collecting dust xD;;

Stamp Cards
Here at Pretty Voice we have 2 stampcard systems. One is your usual trade stamps, and the other one is something new...introducing game stamps, to reward those play the games here ^.^ Below are how the stampcards look like, but please go to this page for detailed information~
